- Use of natural ingredients(enzymes) to accelerate or decelerate the speed of a chemical reaction
- The longest known record are about 6000 years old and are related to the Sumerians
- A little over 10 years ago bio catalysis was used to perform chemical transformations on unnatural human made plants(organic compounds).
- Now however we use them to create fine chemicals, mostly used for the medical industry
- Mostly we use them for food and drink, for the production of beer, cheese, wine, and other things
